Noisy Planes to Visit Friday, Military Warns
Residents living near the Los Alamitos Armed Forces Reserve Center should be prepared to hear loud noises from aircraft between noon and 7 p.m. on Friday.
Two C-5 planes, the military’s largest aircraft, are expected to land at the airfield to make routine equipment deliveries.
One plane is scheduled to land at noon and take off at 4:15 p.m.; the other will arrive at 2 p.m. and depart at 6:15 p.m.
“Sometimes we get complaints because when the planes fly over they seem lower than they are,” National Guard Sgt. Troy Eck said.
“When they make the approach in, they look like a great aluminum cloud.”
