. . . After an examination by a Huntington Beach police crime lab, investigators determined that a finger found in a package of beef was a fake.
The realistic-looking finger, adorned with red nail polish, was discovered by a butcher in the meat department of a local supermarket. Police called the incident a morbid prank.
