Boston Marathon winner Moses Tanui of Kenya criticized his country’s choice of the University of Southern Mississippi as a training site for its Olympic runners.

“I’m opposed to it because we as athletes will prefer to train in high altitude in Kenya than going to a hot place like Mississippi,” Tanui said in Nairobi. “The humid weather will make us suffer from dehydration. This is a plan by our officials to fail the athletes in Atlanta.”
