Venus Lacy Rounds Out 12-Member U.S. Team

Venus Lacy, a former Louisiana Tech star, earned the final spot on the U.S. women’s Olympic basketball team, which posted a 51-0 mark in exhibition play.
The 6-foot-4 Lacy beat out Connecticut’s Kara Wolters, who was named as an alternate by USA Basketball.
The 11 other team members are Jennifer Azzi (Stanford), Ruthie Bolton (Auburn), Teresa Edwards (Georgia), Lisa Leslie (USC), Rebecca Lobo (Connecticut), Katrina McClain (Georgia), Nikki McCray (Tennessee), Carla McGhee (Tennessee), Dawn Staley (Virginia), Katy Steding (Stanford) and Sheryl Swoopes (Texas Tech).
