* Marc B. Bleecher has been named executive director of Futurecare, a comprehensive cancer and hematology center with offices in Oxnard and Ventura.

Bleecher worked at Mercy Healthcare Ventura County for 18 years in the areas of business development, contracting, finance and strategic planning. He has also served as administrator of Radiation Oncology Centers of Ventura County and the Dialysis Centers of Ventura County.

* Mission Produce, California’s largest independent avocado shipper and marketer of imported Mexican limes and mangoes, has named four vice presidents.

Bob Tobias has been named vice president of California grower operations, James C. Donovan is vice president of international operations, Ross Wileman is vice president of sales and marketing, and Harold Edwards is vice president of finance and administration.

All four live in Ventura County and have long associations with the local agricultural community.

* Rich Guske has joined Thomas Associates as a land development consultant. He recently retired as a senior land development engineer for Ventura County’s Public Works Agency.

At Thomas Associates, Guske will be responsible for identifying and marketing development opportunities, and providing professional permit processing services to developers, land owners, engineers and architects.

* Jacques Manset, who works in the Oxnard office of the national brokerage firm A. G. Edwards & Sons, has been promoted to associate vice president.

He has been working as an investment broker in California since 1988. Manset’s main focus has been servicing individual investors, professional athletes, banks, credit unions, corporations, money managers and nonprofit organizations.

* Lola Haag has been named rape crisis program manager for the Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence. Her duties will include training at other agencies, as well as education on the prevention of domestic violence and sexual assault.

She was a therapist at the coalition prior to being named program manager.

* Scott Holtzman was named senior vice president of music business and legal affairs at the Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group in Burbank.

Previously, Holtzman was senior vice president of business affairs and administration for the Sony Pictures Entertainment Music Group.

* S. Dean Lesiak was named senior vice president of regulatory compliance at Great Western Financial Corp. of Chatsworth, a new position.

Previously, Lesiak was executive vice president with the risk management group at Riggs Bank N.A. in Washington, D.C.

* Richard N. Costello was named president of the newly formed Universal Strategic Marketing Group at MCA Inc. in Universal City.

Previously, Costello was president and CEO at TBWA Chiat/Day East, a unit of the leading international advertising agency TBWA.

* Anthony D. Squeglia was named director of corporate communications at Sattel Communications in Chatworth, a subsidiary of the Diana Corp.

Squeglia was previously director of corporate communications and investor relations at Summa Four.

* Amgen Inc. scientist Tak Wah Mak has been named one of six winners of this year’s General Motors Cancer Research Foundation awards for his work in cancer research.

Mak, a vice president of research at Amgen, will share the $300,000 award with five other North American scientists.

Amgen, headquartered in Thousand Oaks, is the biotechnology industry’s largest and most successful firm. Mak works in Toronto for the company’s Amgen Institute, a research center. The GM award was for Mak’s research into the role T-cell receptors play in the immune system’s response to cancer cells.

The General Motors Cancer Research Foundation was set up in 1978 by the auto maker to help fund cancer research. And each year $300,000 is awarded to outstanding scientists whose work has advanced cancer research.
