ITALY : Mobster Reportedly Providing Evidence

Investigators hailed the decision of mobster Calogero Ganci to turn state’s evidence as the latest blow at the heart of the Mafia. Police sources said Ganci, 34, who claimed involvement in more than 100 crimes, joined the ranks of pentiti, or turncoats, because he could no longer stand being separated from his wife and children. Media reports said Ganci had provided a wealth of information since he began cooperating June 6.
