CT Realty Corp. Names Rimel as Executive Vice President

* Stephen J. Rimel has been named executive vice president of operations for CT Realty Corp., a Newport Beach real estate investment company. He will be responsible for asset management, investor relations, public relations, capital markets and new business ventures. Larry Mathena has joined the company as chief financial officer and general counsel. He has served as CT Realty’s outside attorney since 1994. In addition, John Valentine, director of acquisitions, was appointed vice president of acquisitions, and Marc Belluomini, director of project operations, is now vice president of project operations.

* James B. King has been appointed vice president of information services operations and technology for Fluor Corp., an Irvine engineering, construction and diversified services company. Before joining Fluor, King was director of information technology, business information services for TRW Inc.

* John G. Gilstrap has been named national sales manager for Watson Systems Inc., a subsidiary of Watson General Corp. in Irvine. Gilstrap was formerly with EnvirAlert and managed sales, marketing and support activities for the company’s remote monitoring software service for underground storage tanks. Before that, he was president of a software-development company providing custom software to the retail gasoline industry.

* Patricia Vlaun has joined High Impact Television in Newport Beach, a joint venture with Electronic Media Communications, as vice president of sales and marketing. She was previously manager of on-air promotions for E! Entertainment Television in Los Angeles. In her new position, Vlaun will create television publicity and Internet promotion programming services for trade shows and their exhibitors. In addition, Deborah Gairdner and Jeffrey Corrigan joined the company as managers of client services. Gairdner had been an account executive with Promedia International in Newport Beach, and Corrigan was previously a senior account executive at the Orange County Newschannel.

* Julie Empringham has been appointed manager of Glendale Federal Bank’s Corona del Mar office. She previously worked for Wells Fargo and First Interstate banks as a sales manager and business banking officer.

* Daniel C. Grable has joined Lyon Management Group Inc., a Newport Beach property management company, as vice president of acquisitions and business development. He was formerly with Pacific Mutual’s real estate investments department.

* Ginger Hoeben has been named director of the Hospice of Saddleback Valley, part of Saddleback Memorial Medical Center in Laguna Hills. She was previously vice president of the San Diego Hospice.

* Rod Kingston has been elected president of the Orange County chapter of the Bankers Educational Forum, which is affiliated with the California Bankers Assn. Kingston is vice president and regional manager of the South Coast Plaza office of National Bank of Southern California.

* Sandra Sellani has been appointed director of business development for the Behavioral Health division of United Western Medical Centers Corp. of Orange County. She is the former director of business development for Charter Behavioral Health System/Mission Viejo.

* Bill Dunn has joined Palley-Needelman Asset Management Inc., a Newport Beach investment advisory firm, as regional director for the Midwest. He had been regional sales director for Newgate Management Associates of New York.

* Ben Johnson has joined Nelson Communications Group as counselor in the Irvine division. He will provide public relations and public affairs counsel to clients. Johnson was previously media relations director at the Washington, D.C., public relations firm of Ein Communications.

* Bob Ogle has been appointed general manager of the Balboa Bay Club Racquet Club in Newport Beach. Ogle has been a teaching pro with the club for more than 20 years, the last 15 as the head teaching pro.

* Richard Wong has been named executive assistant manager of the Sutton Place Hotel in Newport Beach. He will be responsible for the hotel’s day-to-day operations and oversee completion of the renovation program. Wong was formerly rooms division manager at the Sutton Place Grande Hotels Group’s Toronto property.

* Jens von Gierke has been appointed director of food and beverage for the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Dana Point. He was previously assistant director of food and beverage and room service manager for the hotel. In addition, Jeanne Reilly has been named national incentive sales manager. Before joining the hotel, she handled the incentive market for the Walt Disney World Co.’s 12 hotels, four theme parks and three water parks.

* Patricia Maznyk has joined ProSoft Development Inc., a Buena Park provider of Internet training, as vice president of national sales. Previously, she was vice president of national sales for educational services for Merisel Corp. and, before that, a senior sales specialist for Tech Data.

* Louie Jocson has joined Wind & Sea Restaurants Inc. in Dana Point as executive chef. He will oversee the food and beverage operations for the company’s restaurants in California and Hawaii. Jocson’s first responsibility will be to update and expand the menu at Harpoon Henry’s Seafood Restaurant at Dana Point Harbor.

* Michael A. Hardesty has been appointed a corporate vice president and general manager of the recently opened New York office of Allen & Caron Inc., formerly known as South Coast Communications Group. The Irvine office will continue to be the headquarters for the corporate communications and investor relations company. Hardesty was previously a senior associate specializing in investor relations and investment banking services with South Coast Communications in 1993 and 1994. He rejoins the company after serving as a vice president of investment banking for LT Lawrence in New York.

* Tim Strader Jr. has joined Heitman Properties Ltd. as leasing manager of Griffin Towers I and II in Santa Ana. Before joining the company, he was a senior associate at CB Commercial Real Estate Group in Laguna Hills.

* Michael Eggers has been named a project manager for Southern California Edison to work on competitive issues. He will work out of the Santa Ana regional office and serve on the newly formed Competitive Challenges Team. Eggers previously spent 14 years on the staff of Rep. Ron Packard (R-Oceanside).

* Ralph Scott has been named to a second term as president of the Orange County/Long Beach chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is managing partner of Scott, Bankhead & Co. in Newport Beach.

* Stephen A. Shepardson has been appointed director of business development for Trammell Crow Residential Services in California. He was formerly with Western National Group in Orange.
