Local AIDS Group Gets Own Web Site
Matt Vigil is one of the co-founders of NetVelocity, a Laguna Niguel company that designs Web sites. Vigil has also been found to have AIDS, and recently his company designed a Web site for an organization that has offered him help for years: the AIDS Services Foundation Orange County.
Vigil said he “had noticed for quite a while that there didn’t seem to be a place on the Web where you could go to look for Orange County resources relating to AIDS.” So he and NetVelocity co-founder Mike Emde “thought that this might be a good way to provide more exposure for ASF and its services.”
The site features ASF’s annual financial report and the most recent edition of the organization’s newsletter. The site is linked to about 100 other AIDS sites on the Web. Eventually, NetVelocity plans to add information about the organization’s fund-raisers and other events.
ASF serves more than 700 people with AIDS in Orange County, offering counseling, education, exercise programs, a residential house and home health care. The site can be viewed at https://www.ocasf.org
