Fired Officer Files Claim Against City

Share

A former Simi Valley police officer has filed a claim against the city, alleging wrongful termination.

David S. Ming, 27, was fired in December after he was accused of lying under oath about a search of a Simi Valley residence in 1994. Ming was cleared of the charges but the city fired him anyway.

In January, Ming tried and failed to win his job back through a city appeals process.

His claim asserts that he was fired “unjustly and without cause.” He is seeking pay to the age of 50, full benefits, including retirement, and compensation for pain and suffering.
