A team of federal and local investigators swooped into 10 locations throughout Simi Valley early Tuesday, taking 10 suspected illegal immigrants into custody and arresting one of the men on an outstanding warrant.
Simi Valley Police Chief Randy G. Adams said the sweep was the fifth in a series of surprise inspections at the homes of alleged gang members.
The sweep also netted citations to six people for various health and safety code violations.
U.S. Border Patrol agents took 10 men into custody on suspicion of being illegal immigrants, including Alfredo Banuelos, who was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Simi Valley police joined the Border Patrol, Ventura County probation officers and Simi Valley building code inspectors in the sweep.
