Firefighters

* Kudos to Capt. Mark Saxelby for his editorial response to Kathy Kirkland’s letter.

That the captain and other firefighters take such pains in maintaining their [city and] county-owned vehicles shows the pride they have, not only in themselves, but in their jobs and community. I would rather know, should I ever need the assistance of these fine men, that their equipment is well cared for, functional and ready for service. And knowing that they foot the bill for much of this makes me feel that much better about the taxes I pay.
