Farmers Market to Debut Thursday

City officials in Lomita are hoping a weekly Farmers Market set to debut Thursday will help spur downtown revitalization.
Lomita will join the South Bay cities of Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Torrance and Carson that operate outdoor markets. Charles Felix, Lomita’s economic development coordinator, said officials are hoping the market, in the parking lot behind City Hall on Narbonne Avenue, will make people aware that the town exists.
The market will start with 24 vendors, Felix said. Fruit, vegetable and flower stands will be open from 3 to 7 p.m.
