Armed Man Robs Theater of $6,500
An armed man robbed an Edwards Cinema of almost $6,500 early Tuesday as the theater employees prepared for closing, police said.
Police described the robber as white, 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10, 140 to 160 pounds, and wearing a black watch cap, a green bandanna over his face, black gloves, a black sweatshirt and black sweatpants.
He walked into the theater in the 1800 block of Harbor Boulevard about 12:30 a.m., showed a gun and asked the manager to fill his backpack with cash, police said.
The manager had been transferring money from the cash registers to the safe and gave the robber $6,452, police said.
No one was injured.
