Blauser Suffers Broken Hand

Atlanta Brave shortstop Jeff Blauser will be out four to six weeks after breaking his left hand when he was hit by a pitch by Montreal’s Jeff Juden in Monday night’s game against Montreal.
Blauser was replaced by Rafael Belliard and the Braves went on to win the game, 5-4.

Ryne Sandberg was hit on the outside of his right knee by a pitch by Pittsburgh’s Steve Parris in the eighth inning Monday and had to be helped off the field. The injury was diagnosed as a bruise and Sandberg was listed as day-to-day. . . . The New York Mets activated right-handed pitcher Paul Wilson from the disabled list and optioned left-handed pitcher Pedro A. Martinez to triple-A Norfolk.
