Bravo’s Late Goal Is Decisive for Clash

Paul Bravo scored two goals, including the game-winner in the 80th minute, as the San Jose Clash defeated the Columbus Crew, 4-3, on Saturday, in front of 18,156 at Columbus, Ohio.

Bravo’s winning goal for the Clash (9-8-1) came off an assist from striker Eric Wynalda. It was the seventh consecutive game in which Columbus (3-14-2) has been scored on in the last 20 minutes.

New England 2, Washington 0--Darren Sawatzky scored two goals as the Revolution defeated DC United at Foxboro, Mass in front of 18,347.

United (8-11) lost leading scoring Raul Diaz Arce to ejection and productive forward Steve Rammel to injury in the first half, and New England (9-8) took advantage of the depleted lineup when Sawatzky launched a left-footed shot in the 78th minute.

Dallas 2, Kansas City 1--Gerrell Elliott scored in the 75th minute to give the Burn (12-9) the victory over the Wiz (10-11) before 11,592 at Kansas City, Mo. in a game delayed by rain and lightning.

Dallas’ Jason Kreis opened the scoring in the 13th minute, moments before play was suspended play for 55 minutes because of the weather. Preki tied it in the 22nd minute on a penalty kick.
