Orange County Team Wins USTA Hardcourt Division Title
HUNTINGTON BEACH —
Bob Duesler of Newport Beach and Henry Leichtfried of Irvine won their division at the USTA 50-55 hardcourt championships Sunday at the Lindborg Racquet Club.
The pair won the 55 doubles final, 6-4, 6-2, over Geof Grant of Sausalito and Gordon Smith of Greenbrae.
Dick Johnson of Ballwin, Mo., beat David Bohannon of Garden Grove, 7-5, 6-1, in the 50 singles final.
Allen Carter of Dallas beat Len Saputo of Walnut Creek, 6-2, 6-3, in the 55 singles final.
Peter Bronson of Phoenix and David Bryant of Oklahoma City won the 50 doubles with a 6-2, 6-4 sweep of Jim Parker of Houston and Ken Robinson of San Carlos.
