Dutch hockey captain Marc Delissen scored one goal and set up another to help his team beat Malaysia, 2-0, in its first Group B match.
Center forward Delissen, playing his 255th international, put the finishing touch to a tight passing movement around the Malaysian circle in the 10th minute.
He lifted the ball into the top of the Malaysian goal after it had been pulled back to him by left winger Teun de Nooijer.
The Dutch added to their lead in the 30th minute. Delissen picked out left link Leo-Klein Gebbink on the far side of the circle with a perfectly judged pass through the defense and Gebbink beat a defender and scored with a reverse stick shot.
In another Group B game, South Korea earned a 2-2 draw with Great Britain when captain Shin-heum Park scored a penalty goal with three minutes left.
