A Los Angeles woman was charged with battery and making a terrorist threat for allegedly assaulting a patron at an Encino movie theater earlier this month, Los Angeles City Atty. James K. Hahn announced.

Jewel Lynne Peyton, 28, is accused of attacking a 28-year-old North Hollywood woman July 3 at the Laemmle Town Center 5 theater in Encino after a third patron objected to a crying child in Peyton’s party.

During the altercation, Peyton allegedly threatened to retrieve a gun from her car and shoot the victim, said Deputy City Atty. Lisa Kissel. Peyton was arrested after the victim and a witness pointed her out to officers from the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Valley Division, who had arrived following a call from the theater’s manager.
