Suprianto Shows Indonesian Power
Top-seeded Joko Suprianto of Indonesia crushed Finland’s Pontus Jantti, 15-1, 15-5, to reach the last 16 of the men’s singles.
No. 2 Poul-Erik Hoyer-Larsen of Denmark, fifth-seed Korean Sung Park Woo, and Denmark’s Thomas Stuer-Lauridsen also advanced.
Park Soo Yun and Chung Jae Hee of South Korea were easy winners over Taipei’s Tsai Huey-Min and Chen Li-Chin, 15-7 and 15-6, in women’s doubles. Kim Shin Young and Kim Mee-Hyang also were straight-set winners, defeating Japan’s Aiko Miyamura and Aikiko Miyamura, 15-12 and 18-13.
In men’s doubles, China’s Tao Xiaoqiang and Ge Chang defeated Britain’s Peter Knowles and Darren Hall, 15-2 and 15-3.
