School Board Fills 2 Administrative Jobs

Share

The Conejo Valley School Board turned to two seasoned professionals, Max Beamanand Teri Scarpino, to fill administrative vacancies at Newbury Park High School and Sequoia Intermediate School.

“We have two people who are just ecstatic about their new positions,” said Jody Dunlap, the district’s assistant superintendent for personnel services. “And they’re both very qualified.”

Beaman, a district employee since 1990, on Thursday became the principal at Newbury Park--a post vacated when Charles Eklund became the district’s director of secondary education.

He has previously been a teacher, counselor and administrator outside Conejo Valley.

At the same time, Scarpino was hired to fill Beaman’s previous position, principal of Sequoia Intermediate School.

A former coach and teacher at Newbury Park, Scarpino is vacating that school’s assistant principal for activities and athletics spot.

Dunlap said district officials expect to hire Scarpino’s replacement by late August.

Both Scarpino and Beaman will be near the top of the district’s pay scale, earning salaries in the low-$70,000 range.
