Marrow Drives Set to Help Father of 2
Several businesses are sponsoring a combination blood and bone marrow drive today and on the next two Tuesdays.
The drive was organized to help Paul Ortiz, a 30-year-old father of two who worked for maintenance at The City Shopping Center. He has been diagnosed with leukemia and needs a bone marrow transplant, but no suitable donor has been found.
The City’s management company, Cushman & Wakefield, joined with TRW and Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. to sponsor the drive.
All donors will be registered with the National Bone Marrow Donor Program Registry, said organizer Hilary Kaye of Hilary Kaye Associates in Newport Beach.
The drive today is at the TRW building, 600 City Parkway West, Suite 922. Information: (714) 385-5636.
