Greg Gohr didn’t get off to a very good start with the Angels.
The Angels acquired Gohr in exchange for second baseman Damion Easley from Detroit on Wednesday, and he promptly gave up a grand slam to former teammate and rookie Tony Clark. Overall, he was tagged for five runs on three hits and two walks in just one-third of an inning.
“It was ugly and not the first impression you want to make,” Gohr said. “I was just in a mechanical funk. I couldn’t really do anything and got burned.”
Gohr, 4-8 in 16 starts with Detroit.

The Angels have lost four consecutive games and 14 of their last 18 road games. The Tigers outscored the Angels 35-19 in the series.
“You walk people, you throw balls over people’s heads, it’s tough,” said Angels manager Marcel Lachemann said. “It’s my job to motivate them, and right now that’s a zero. We’re not getting it done, and when I say ‘we,’ I mean all of us.”
