Atlanta 1996 Olympics
The United States had six boxers reach the Olympic semifinals in Atlanta. But after four fights, none had gone further. Floyd Mayweather became the latest victim, losing to Serafim Todorov of Bulgaria. In track and field, Michael Johnson was out of the 1,600-meter relay, but Carl Lewis might run the 400 relay. Jackie Joyner-Kersee won a bronze in the long jump.
