IHOP Posts 27% Rise in Profits to $7.43 Million

IHOP Corp. reported earnings increases for its second-quarter and six-month periods as its same-store sales continued to gain.

The Glendale company, which owns and franchises International House of Pancakes restaurants, said its second-quarter net income was $4.37 million, up 7% from a $4.07 million profit a year earlier. Its three-month revenue was $44.5 million, an 11% rise from $40.1 million in revenue a year before.

In the six months that ended June 30, IHOP’s net income grew 27%, to $7.43 million from $5.85 million in the comparable period in 1995. Its first-half revenue rose 16%, to $84.8 million from $73.3 million.
