Mossimo Posts $4-Million Quarterly Net

Mossimo Inc., a designer of men’s and women’s clothing, said net income for the second quarter totaled $4 million, or 26 cents a share. That compares with net income of $5.2 million for the second quarter last year, before the company completed its initial public offering in February. On a pro forma basis, the company said 1995 second-quarter net income was $3.2 million, or 24 cents a share.

Sales increased 41% to $25.6 million from $18.2 million. First-half net income was $9.8 million, compared with $10.6 million for the like six months a year earlier. Pro forma net income was $7.9 million, or 54 cents a share, compared with $6.4 million, or 49 cents a share. Sales rose 43% to $50 million from $35 million.
