Hearings to Evaluate Neighborhood Crime

A city zoning official will hold public hearings Friday in Sherman Oaks to consider the effectiveness of abatement measures in preventing crime at three Van Nuys businesses, the Los Angeles Office of Zoning Administration has announced.

Under conditions established by the City Council and Los Angeles Superior Court, business owners are required to take steps to prevent or discourage criminal behavior on their property. The businesses are:

* Town House Motel, 6957 Sepulveda Blvd. The hearing begins at 9 a.m.

* Cinema Motel, 6242 Sepulveda Blvd. The hearing begins at 9:30 a.m.

* Orville’s Originals, a doughnut shop at 6801 Sepulveda Blvd. The hearing begins at 10 a.m.

All hearings will take place at the Sherman Oaks Woman’s Club, 4808 Kester Ave.
