Alan Sternfeld was named executive vice president of ABC Entertainment with broad programming and administrative responsibilities. Jeff Bader will succeed Sternfeld as vice president of program planning and scheduling at ABC.

* Jamie Bennett has been promoted to chief executive of Pearson Television Worldwide Productions.

* Former Sony Pictures Entertainment publicity executive Don DeMesquita has teamed with Russ Patrick to form DeMesquita/Patrick Communications, a corporate marketing and publicity firm. DeMesquita was executive vice president of corporate communications at Sony until 1995, followed by a brief stint at a start-up company called Media Four.

* Joe Reilly was named senior vice president and general manager of Warner Bros. Television Animation. Separately at Warner Bros., Julie Kantrowitz was promoted to senior vice president of media sales for the company’s domestic television distribution operation.

* Julie Anne Weitz has been promoted to executive vice president of original programming for Turner Network Television.

* Kim Fleary is resigning as senior vice president of comedy and variety series development for ABC Entertainment to pursue new opportunities in the television industry.
