Sheriff Decorates Cells With Blue Teddy Bears

Some inmates have a little extra company when they go beddy-bye: blue teddy bears painted on the walls of their pink jail cells.

Davidson County Sheriff Gerald Hege said this week that he had two cellblocks painted at the county jail to try to help keep inmates calm and brighten their spirits.

“It’s kind of hard to get hostile in a pink room with blue teddy bears,” Hege said.

But inmate Jerry Reid complained: “The guys are going to feel like sissies.”
