Like KISS, R&B; supergroup New Edition refuses to die. The band, whose members included such future solo stars as Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill and the trio Bell Biv DeVoe, has reunited for a new album. The first single from the album, “Hit Me Off,” gets them off to a good start, selling 123,000 copies to enter both The Times’ Southern California chart and the national sales charts at No. 2. Alanis Morissette’s debut album, “Jagged Little Pill,” sold another 120,000 copies, maintaining her No. 1 position on both charts.
