Stuckert Gets OK to Run for City Council

Share

Dan Stuckert, a local businessman, has qualified to vie for a City Council seat in November.

After Stuckert turned in his nomination papers on Aug. 9, it appeared that he didn’t have enough signatures of registered voters to run for office.

But a subsequent check by the registrar of voters office determined that Stuckert did have sufficient signatures. The confusion apparently stemmed from the fact that some people who signed Stuckert’s candidacy papers also registered to vote at the same time.

Now, a total of six candidates will run for office. Councilmen Frank Feldhaus, a businessman, and Tom Tait, also a businessman and an appointed council member, are vying to keep their seats.

The other challengers are Lucille Kring, a federal grand juror; Shirley McCracken, an educator; and Curtis A. Stricker, a business executive.
