Golfers Get Chance to Tee Off on Concerns

Share

Los Angeles County recreation officials will have a chance to hear what Valley residents think of the county’s 19 golf courses at a public hearing this afternoon at El Cariso Golf Course in Sylmar.

The forum, one of four held annually, will enable golfers to hear straight from the source about decisions concerning fees and policy.

“The biggest concern is, ‘Are the fees going to go up?’ ” said Larry Lee, golf director for the county Parks and Recreation Department. “This is a good opportunity for communication back and forth with the people playing our golf courses.”

Lee will attend the hearing along with Parks and Recreation Director Rodney Cooper. Also scheduled to participate are Steve Duron, the county’s contract services director, and representatives from American Golf Corp., DC Golf and Avila Golf Management.

Lee said about 50 people have been attending the quarterly hearings since their inception in 1995.

Today’s hearing begins at 1 p.m. at El Cariso, 13100 Eldridge St.
