* Re “WWII’s ‘Other’ Detainees Press Claims Against U.S.,” Aug. 26: As a World War II veteran who fought in Europe, I saw some pretty ugly things. But the U.S. detention of 2,200 people of Japanese ancestry from Latin American countries must rank near the top. I think we can appreciate that the Nazis were capable of this kind of thing--but we! I wonder how many other dark secrets await my dying generation.
