While Hurricane Fran is complicating the travel plans of several Atlantic Coast Conference teams, officials expect Saturday’s games to be played as scheduled.

Most teams fly on the Friday before a Saturday contest, but with Fran expected to pass through central and eastern North Carolina, departing flights might be delayed. However, a league spokesman said every effort would be made to get teams to their respective cities in time for kickoff.

Louisiana State running back Kevin Faulk, who was supposed to sit out the Tigers’ opening game against Houston on Saturday after a fight with police, will play after all. Coach Gerry DiNardo told the team of his decision to forego the suspension before practice, the school said in a news release. Police recommended this week that the case be dropped. . . . Clemson receiver Tony Horne, suspended indefinitely by Coach Tommy West this week, has been arrested for punching a student in the face. City Police Chief Lonnie Saxon said Horne was charged Thursday with assault and released on $304 bond. Horne becomes the ninth Clemson player arrested since February. His suspension leaves the team without its two leading receivers from a year ago. . . . Malicious mischief charges against three Mississippi State starters and a former Bulldog player were dismissed. Quarterback Derrick Taite, linebacker Dwayne Curry, running back Keffer McGee and former receiver Michael Brown had been accused of breaking a car window.
