According to police, Steinberg was driving west in the 700 block of West Coast Highway shortly after midnight when he rear-ended another car.

Steinberg was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and given a blood alcohol test at the police station. The results were not immediately available.

According to Andy Gonis, a spokesman for the Newport Beach Police Department, Steinberg will have a court appearance in about two weeks, by which time the district attorney’s office will have decided whether to file charges.
