Colts Hurting for Cowboy Game

The Indianapolis Colts, preparing to play at Dallas Sunday, listed three players as out, three players as doubtful, and five players as questionable. Listed as out were linebacker Trev Alberts (shoulder), defensive back Derrick Frazier (broken forearm) and defensive lineman Ellis Johnson (concussion).

A contempt charge against Cincinnati Bengal defensive end John Copeland was dismissed Tuesday, but he must pay $15,051.52 in child support each month during the team’s five-month season. Magistrate Allen Miller dismissed the contempt charge because payments on Copeland’s behalf had resumed after an interruption, said Juvenile Court administrator Thomas Lipps.

The Bengals have reached an agreement to remain in Cincinnati through the 2025 season and will contribute $44 million to $48 million toward a new football stadium.

The Houston Oilers, determined to be good neighbors before officially arriving in Tennessee, will donate money from the sale of 75 seats in three luxury suites for their Oct. 27 home game against San Francisco, to a Nashville, Tenn., charity. The seats will be included in travel packages that will be sold for $1,000 apiece, with the money going to the Clinic Bowl, which primarily funds the Vanderbilt Hospital Physical Therapy Clinic.
