* Universal Studios’ consumer products group in Universal City has promoted Debra L. Jackman to director of publicity and special events. Jackman was formerly the division’s marketing manager.

Connie Rush was promoted to the group’s director of product development from her previous post as manager of product development.

Ruth Waldorf has been appointed creative resource manager of the unit.

Vince Lodato was named art director for product development.

Christina George was appointed manager of promotions, and former coordinator Trisha Chaves was promoted to manager of specialty licensing and animation art.

Jim Klein, president of the consumer products group, said the appointments were part of an effort to expand and strengthen the division, and pursue new licensing and merchandising opportunities.

* Rebbecca Calderwood has joined the Ventura law firm of Taylor McCord.

A 1986 graduate of the Ventura College of Law, Calderwood has 10 years of experience in family law.

Taylor McCord has attorneys working in several areas of civil and criminal law, including personal injury, wrongful death and probate.

* Tricia Taylor, a recent summa cum laude graduate of Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, has joined Mayerson Marketing & Public Relations as an account services representative.

The position was created as part of the firm’s expansion.

Westlake Village-based Mayerson specializes in marketing plans, brochures, advertising, writing and media relations.
