Public’s Ideas Sought for Using Grants

Share

The city is seeking public comment on how to use federal grants that the city expects to receive this fiscal year to improve public facilities and public services in lower-income areas.

All residents may attend a public hearing Sept. 30 to draw up a list of community needs and proposed projects for funding anticipated from the Federal Community Development Block Grant Program.

The 6 p.m. meeting will be at City Hall, 33282 Golden Lantern, Suite 206.

Since its incorporation in 1989, Dana Point has received $867,000 in community block grants. Amounts vary from year to year, officials said, and they do not know yet how much the city will receive for fiscal 1996-97.
