Police Hold Suspect in Teen-Sex Case

A self-employed carpenter from Simi Valley was arrested Thursday for allegedly having sex with a 13-year-old girl in June, authorities said.
Simi Valley police said that on June 24, 47-year-old Philip Pekrul had sex with the teenager in his motor home.
Pekrul and the girl have known each other for several years, and the alleged sexual contact was discovered only after her parents obtained a restraining order against Pekrul due to the constant contact he and the girl were having, Det. David Del Marto said.
Pekrul was being held Thursday night in Ventura County Jail on several allegations, including lewd and lascivious conduct with a child under 14.
Bail was set at $250,000.
