Children’s Broadcasting Sues Disney, ABC Radio: Children’s Broadcasting charged that ABC Radio Networks, which served as its national advertising representative, used confidential information it gained through that relationship to develop a competing children’s radio network with Walt Disney Co. Children’s Broadcasting’s Radio AAHS provides music, news, stories and games for children 12 and under from its flagship station, WWTC-AM in Minneapolis. It is the only live 24-hour radio network for children in the U.S. ABC Radio said in July that it would try to introduce a 24-hour children’s programming radio network before the end of the year. In connection with that plan, ABC canceled its contract to market Children’s Broadcasting’s programming. The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Minneapolis, seeks unspecified damages and an injunction.
