DisneyWorld will be 25 years old Tuesday, and the Lake Buena Vista, Fla., theme park and resort is celebrating.

On Tuesday, it will open Disney’s BoardWalk, a waterfront “village” that aims to create the flavor of the Mid-Atlantic coast circa 1930. It includes 910 rooms at BoardWalk Inn and BoardWalk Villas, a dance hall, pub and dining. On Wednesday, the world’s largest Disney store opens, with 12 shopping areas. There’s also a new roller coaster at Mickey’s Toontown Fair.

The 185-foot-tall Cinderella Castle, a park icon, is being redesigned as a giant birthday cake with 25 candles. One-day passes at the resort for adults and children down to age 10 are $44.81; $32.86, ages 3-9; under 3, free.

Meanwhile, at Disneyland Paris, just outside the French capital, the central building at Sequoia Lodge is open for reservations after a fire Sept. 7 that damaged about 200 of its rooms, a Disneyland Paris spokesman said. Most rooms are now reopened; the rest are expected to reopen in a month or two. The fire is believed to have been accidental.
