Engineering Firm Changes Its Name to KaServ

Essence Engineering, a 7-year-old Ventura firm, has changed its name to KaServ Engineering.
The change incorporates the name of owner Richard Kasa and is intended to better reflect the company’s changing role in the industry.
“Essence has always been primarily identified with the oil and gas industry,” Kasa said. “Our emphasis has shifted and now only about 50% of our business is in oil and gas. The remainder is a broad range of general design projects throughout the Southland.”
Some of the company’s recent projects include designing Del Monte’s $3.9-million cold storage facility at the Port of Hueneme, retrofitting a PVC processing plant in Carson, and providing construction management services for several earthquake reconstruction projects in Los Angeles County.
Kasa said his 15-employee firm has renewed a four-year lease at 4820 McGrath St. in Ventura.
