Final Work Done at Lake Arrowhead

Coach Larry Robinson is using the break in the schedule for a four-day sojourn to the Lake Arrowhead area. The Kings will practice in Blue Jay this week before Friday’s season opener against the New York Islanders.

“We still have time to work on a number of things--mainly getting rid of our bumps and bruises,” Robinson said. “And with the power play, working on bringing the puck up and setting up in the zone.”

Meanwhile, Monday’s waiver draft passed and the Kings did not lose any players. Defenseman Sean O’Donnell had been surprised when he learned Saturday that he was on the protected list.

“I guess it’s good,” he said. “I’ve always wanted to be part of the organization. For now, I’m happy about it.”
