Golden West Pins San Bernardino Valley

Golden West recorded three falls in its 37-9 victory over visiting San Bernardino Valley in South Coast Conference wrestling Wednesday.

At 134 pounds, Jason Lowe of Golden West pinned Roman Salazar in 6 minutes 14 seconds. At 150 pounds, Luis Rivas pinned San Bernardino’s Gabe Bojorquez in 6:54. Raphael Davis recorded the third fall for Golden West (9-0, 1-0) after pinning David Serrano in 5:30 in the 177-pound match.

In nonconference women’s soccer:

Grossmont 1, Irvine Valley 0--Tippy Roberts had three saves for Grossmont (4-2). Teammate Becky Kiesz scored for Grossmont.

Stephanie Olson had seven saves for Irvine Valley (2-3-2).

In nonconference volleyball:

Cypress 3, Rio Hondo 0--Tonja Drinkwater had 16 kills in a victory for Cypress, 15-7, 15-1, 16-14. The Chargers are 3-2.

In nonconference volleyball:

Orange Coast 3, San Bernardino Valley 1--Jennifer Fish had 16 kills for Orange Coast, which won, 17-15, 15-6, 14-16, 15-5. Teammate Tracy Burns had 10 kills for the Pirates (4-2).

In South Coast Conference men’s water polo:

Fullerton 15, El Camino 2--Chris Piersoll scored four goals in a conference victory for Fullerton (9-5, 1-1). Greg Petrisevic and Andy Wyse each scored three goals for the Hornets.
