Wiz Makes West Finals in Shootout Over Burn

Preki, Frank Klopas and Paul Wright scored shootout goals as the Kansas City Wiz edged the Dallas Burn, 3-2, at Dallas in the deciding game of their Western Conference semifinal.
The Wiz, which won the shootout, 3-2, will face the Galaxy for the Western Conference title.
United 2, MetroStars 1--Raul Diaz Arce’s penalty kick with less than two minutes remaining gave D.C. United an emotional victory--and the semifinal series--over the MetroStars at Washington.
Diaz Arce’s game-winner clinched the best-of-three Eastern Conference series and touched off a wild celebration by the 20,423 fans at RFK Stadium.
United will face Tampa Bay in the Eastern Conference finals starting Oct. 11 at RFK Stadium.
Tampa Bay 4, Columbus 1--Roy Lassiter scored twice, including the game-winner in the 41st minute, as the Mutiny defeated the Columbus Crew at Tampa to advance to the Eastern Division finals.
