Offices to Be Open Late for Voter Registration

Offices of some city clerks across Orange County will be open late Monday, the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 5 election.

Those who have not registered may do so at any of 16 city halls that will be extending their hours.

“We do this just to make it easier for those last-minute folks who want to register,” said Ivy Joseph, Mission Viejo’s clerk. “We usually get a few people coming in.”

The latest of the extended hours will be at the registrar of voters office, 1300 S. Grand Ave., building C, Santa Ana, where registration forms may be dropped off until midnight.

The form will also be accepted if postmarked before midnight on Monday. Regardless of postmark, all forms must be received by the registrar no later than Friday.

Registration forms are available at city halls and most post offices, the state Department of Motor Vehicles offices and public libraries.

Prospective voters may register at any city hall, regardless of where they live.
