Kansas used a 100-yard kickoff return by Eric Vann and a school-record 94-yard punt return by Isaac Byrd to defeat Oklahoma, 52-24, on Saturday, the most points ever scored against the Sooners at Norman, Okla.

The long returns were two of many mistakes in the kicking game that helped doom the Sooners (0-4, 0-1). They are in the midst of a school-record seven-game losing streak and are off to their worst start since going 0-5 in 1961.

Kansas (3-1, 1-0) won easily despite getting only 63 yards from tailback June Henley, who came in averaging 201 a game. Matt Johner completed 17 of 24 passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns.

The 52 points eclipsed the 47 scored by Oklahoma State in a shutout of the Sooners in 1945. It’s the second-highest point total ever against Oklahoma--Kansas State beat the Sooners, 59-21, in 1969.

Justin Fuente threw for 286 yards and two touchdowns, and De’Mond Parker gained 146 for Oklahoma, but Kansas made the Sooners pay for 16 penalties and the breakdowns on specialty teams.

Texas A&M; 63, Louisana Tech 13--D’Andre Hardeman ran for three touchdowns and the Aggies scored 42 consecutive points in a nonconference game at College Station, Texas.

Texas A&M; (2-3) scored touchdowns on six of seven first-half possessions for a 42-3 halftime lead, then added two TDs in the first 2:27 of the third quarter for a 56-6 margin over the Bulldogs (3-3).

The Aggies, who pulled most of their starters midway through the third quarter, rushed 53 times for 425 yards.
