Share

Schoolchildren, city officials and residents are invited to rally against drug abuse from 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 19 at the Recreation Center, 16400 Brookhurst St.

The city-sponsored event will feature anti-drug exhibits, puppet shows, finger painting and a demonstration by a police SWAT unit. A march down Brookhurst to Warner Avenue will follow.

“It’s going to be an annual event,” said Sally J. Franz, community services manager for the city. “We are trying to show our support for the whole city to stay no to drugs.”
