King update--Even before No. 1 goaltender Stephane Fiset was hit by a barrage of shots (42) from the Montreal Canadiens, King Coach Larry Robinson had planned to give Byron Dafoe the start against the Flyers, his first of the season. Dafoe started the first six games last season, going 3-0-3, and 17 of the first 21. In all, he appeared in 47 games and went 14-24-8 with a goals-against average of 3.87 last season. In anticipation of a physical game, King enforcers Matt Johnson and Barry Potomski are both scheduled to play.

Flyer update--Star center Eric Lindros, who has been sidelined because of a pulled groin, could be out for one or two more weeks. Lindros was injured while playing for Canada in the World Cup, and is aiming to be ready for a trip starting in Los Angeles on Oct. 15. He visited a specialist on Wednesday in London, Ontario. Former King forward John Druce had a solid training camp and has been playing on a line with Pat Falloon and Dale Hawerchuk.
