Iacenda Doesn’t Discuss Case

Ted Iacenda, the USC freshman running back charged with sexual assault, worked out with his teammates Thursday and afterward said his attorney had ordered him not to discuss his case with the media.

“The one thing I can say is that [the charge] is absolutely untrue,” Iacenda said, one day after he was processed in Las Vegas on a charge of assaulting a 17-year-old girl in Las Vegas on July 7.

Coach John Robinson, who conferred at mid-afternoon in his office with the player, said USC is still gathering information about the case, and that Iacenda would continue practicing.

Robinson said sophomore David Pratchard would start at the undermanned left guard position Saturday against Arizona. With Chris Brymer and his backup, Faaesea Mailo, both out because of injuries, left guard was a major problem in the 22-15 loss to Cal last Saturday.

Robinson, who started Brett Samperi last week, said Pratchard and Samperi would share the position against Arizona.
