Health Workshop to Update Food Workers
To update restaurant owners and residents on recent changes in state laws governing food service, an environmental health workshop has been scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday in City Council chambers.
City officials and representatives from the county environmental health agency will be on hand to discuss statutes regulating food service businesses and to answer questions about inspection and enforcement procedures.
City Manager Kenneth C. Frank said the workshop’s purpose is to ensure that restaurateurs understand the laws and to help resolve problems they may have meeting the regulations.
Recent legal changes involve food temperature control, thawing of food products and receiving food deliveries, said Ken Huston, assistant director for Orange County Environmental Health.
